Welcome back Caldwell Road Elementary families! 

We are excited to welcome our school community back.  Below is some important information:

1. Curriculum night will be Tuesday Sept 6th from 5-6.  Teachers will have 2 sessions - 5-5:20 and 5:20-5:40.  We then invite you to come and have a popsicle (while supplies last). Students and their families are welcome to bring their school supplies as well. 

2. Parking - we know that the parking lot can be a big challenge.  With the new construction happening on Caldwell road, we ask our families to be mindful and consider walking instead of driving.  The less congestion we can have the better.  If you do drive, it is expected that you will be patient and only go in the parking lot areas that you are allowed. 

3.  Student Arrival - we will continue with our soft start this year.  Students are welcomed into the building anytime between 8:05-8:20.  Please note - our bell times have been pushed back by 5 minutes. Instructional time is 8:25 and dismissal is 2:15. 

4. First day of school - all teachers will be on duty.  Teachers will be visible by the hawaiian leis.  We will have teachers standing by a chair and they will have a list of student names.  You can also find out who your child's teacher is by going into powerschool.  If you don't have your powerschool login set up, here is the guide: https://www.ednet.ns.ca/inschool/files_inschool/parents_guide_to_the_parent_portal.pdf    * Please be aware* Registrations are still coming in.  This can affect the make up of a class. 

5. Dismissal information for your child - On the first day - please either email or send in your child's dismissal information to your child's teacher (do they take the bus, are they walking, is someone picking them up). This is VERY important. 

6. Do you have a new phone number? Please let Mrs. Wright know so she can update powerschool.  You can also make the changes yourself using your powerschool login.
